How to reach us

By car

Either from the South or the North, we suggest you take exit “Firenze SUD”: after the toll, follow the signs for Florence until you cross the Varlungo bridge. After the bridge, turn left towards the city center and continue straight down the Lungarni (Lungarno Aldo Moro, Lungarno Colombo and Lungarno del Tempio) for about 3 Km. When you reach the San Nicolò bridge, you will be forced to turn right down Viale Amendola. From here, take your first left (Viale Duca degli Abruzzi) and then left again down Viale Giovine Italia where you’ll be heading back towards the Lungarni. At the end of Viale Giovine Italia, turn right and continue on this Lungarno to the National Library in Piazza dei Cavalleggeri. Here take Corso dei Tintori. At the end of the street, turn left at the traffic light to head back towards the Lugarno where you will turn right to the Ponte Vecchio. At this bridge, turn right on Via Por Santa Maria and, after 200 m, turn right on Via Vacchereccia where, facing the famous Bar Rivoire, you’ll find the Relais Piazza Signoria.

By train

The Santa Maria Novella Station is located about 1 km from Relais Piazza Signoria. To get to the Relais you can take a taxi or else take the bus towards the Duomo. Either way it will take about 10 minutes, if you take the route described above.

By plane

Once you reach Florence ”Amerigo Vespucci” International Airport (10 km form the center), you have two ways of getting to the Relais:
– a taxi will get you directly to the Relais in 20 minutes;
– the “Vola in bus” shuttle service also takes around 20 minutes to reach Santa Maria Novella station. Piazza Signoria can be reached following the directions described above.

  • The Relais takes the name from the spectacular square it overlooks: Piazza Signoria, a symbol of Florentine architecture and the political and civic center of the city since Medieval times.
  • Its extraordinary location allows you to enjoy the treasures of the historic center in complete relaxation. All the principal artistic and cultural attractions can be visited with a simple walk. Besides the Piazza, the Palazzo Vecchio and the Ponte Vecchio, you can conveniently reach the Galleria degli Uffizi at 50m, the Duomo with the Bell tower by Giotto at 200 m, The Medici Chapels in San Lorenzo, the Bargello Museum, the beautiful Basilica di Santa Croce at 500 m, the Galleria dell’Accademia at 500 m, as well as Palazzo Pitti, the Church of Santo Spirito and the Boboli Garden just after Arno river.
  • A stay at the Relais guarantees, among other things, a spot in the first row for any show or exhibition taking place in Piazza Signoria. Among the most traditional events is the “maneggio della bandiera” (handling of the flags) by the Sbandieratori (flag wavers), that re-enact the ambience of 16th century Florence. Indeed, these festivals have their roots in medieval times and they represent bellicose events or popular celebrations.
  • The exceptional accessibility to the artistic heritage of the city is complemented by the facilities available, making the Relais a very modern and convenient hotel for business. Anyone coming to Florence for business will find the major business centers such as the Congress Center, at only 3 km. The hotel is very well serviced by public transport, bus at 50 m and taxi at 200 m, and also the Santa Maria Novella station, a 15 minute walk.
